Subject:13th Floor Elevators/Mothers/Chocolate Watchband Posters

Check this out:
http://www.sixtiesposters.com/bg13.htm

I've had a second print poster for a few years now. I just bought
three postcards. I'm going to frame the poster and three postcards
together. The poster will be on top and the postcards lined up along
the bottom. It will have purple matting and an orange frame.

I've already done something similar with this poster and three cards:
http://www.sixtiesposters.com/bg34.htm

It's a first print poster and three cards. I picked up the poster for
cheep on eBay and bought three cards. It has quickly turned into a
cornerstone piece of my collection.

Check this out:

I've had a first printing of this poster for almost ten years. Over
the years I have mailed it around to my friends the bandmembers. I
obtained the signatures of:
Danny Thomas - Drums
John Ike Walton - Drums
Ronnie Leatherman - Bass

On 10/31/08 I attended a Roky Erickson concert in LA and obtained
Roky's signature on this poster. Go here to read an account of that
concert:
http://texaspsych.blogspot.com/search/label/Roky%20Erickson%20and%20t...

Scroll down to the Sunday, November 2, 2008 - Roky Erickson and the
Black Angels- El Ray Theater, Los Angeles 10-31-08

Last week, I mailed the poster to my friend, Clementine Hall. I am
obtaining her signature and Tommy Hall's. If I am lucky, Powell St.
John will sign it too.

When I get this back this will go directly to Esprit Decor for custom
framing. I might frame it with three handbills along the bottom.

BTW, I have a similar poster, 3rd printing, that already has all of
the signatures described above on it. This one in the works is a rare
1st printing.

Subject:Amazing 13th Floor Elevators Prints!

OK people, Kiloh has delivered the goods! I have been working with William Warner to make a few of his photographs of the 13th Floor Elevators available for the very first time. Take a look at this:
http://www.wmwarner.com/13-el-prints-offer.html

Amazing. These are direct from the original negatives! These aren’t crappy 9 x 12 glossies but are fabulous 11 x 14 professionally mounted prints signed by the photographer.

One of the prints is a “never seen” shot from the Living Eye in Houston!

Right now, Mr. Warner has 15 of these same prints up on eBay for SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS minimum starting bid. So did Kiloh do right by you? You’re Goddamn right he did!

This is one set of prints at one, low, price. No going: “I only want *that* print.”

Look on the webpage and click the BUY NOW button to purchase electronically.

Those that want to send checks or money orders will have to do so through me. If you want to pay by check email Kiloh here:
Rokysyd11@yahoo.com

That’s rokysyd11 @ yahoo . com

Email me and tell me that you want to pay by check. I’ll send you my address and instructions.

These prints are bad-ass. It doesn’t get any better than this.

I am grateful I was born in Austin in 1953 so I could be the perfect age to experiement and be there to experience the full effect of the 60's and 70's music scene. Since my parents divorced and my mother moved to Houston I also got to experience the 60's and 70's there too. Too many memories to mention.

Subject:Psychedelic music is IN with tyme!

Hi all. I got here thanx to Paul Bertrand. I like this site. I've been listening to psych music since forever..back in Australia where the very word "psychedelic" sent visions of anarchy in peoples' minds! I loved the tunes from Austin...Elevators, Moving Sidewalks, etc. Great stuff indeed!
See you all.

Subject:researching houston's part in psychedelic music

is there a definitive work to recommend? 2 of the bands in your ranch i've had the pleasure to sit in with. the charalambides when we neighbors on lexington when i was still new to the drums(1995?), and p.u. a couple months back when there drummer was hospitalised for his hernia. i hear tom and christina are comin thru houston again in sept. and my new band graustark is on the bill. the guitarist in my new project has visited st thomas nearby for evidence of a red crayola and got some yearbook photos of mayo. he sez warhol was an artist in residence about the same time and brought the v.u. guys through texas (1966?). i'm sure there's that info out there on line somewhere, but i've asked around for material in print and get the same 'idunno'. frank davis is still kicking locally. we want to tap that rescource whenever he wants to record us, but the number of people connected to the history has got to be dwindling. a couple of other friends were excited about a preservation effort-like a collection of interviews/recollections about the scene, the clubs, the bands, the people. any help would go a long way. thanks, bill.
